MIP “not a savior” for Steel anymore

Recently Indian Government has increased the Minimum Import Rate (MIP) on 66 items which was earlier applied on 176 items with the stretch of Two months. The latest proposition was last nail on the coffin of already sinking ship of Steel Industry in India. It’s been a while that Indian Steel Industry has been suffering a downfall as the price of steel is gradually decreasing. The major reason behind the crashing down of steel price is that it has not been able to match up with the steel imports from China, Japan and South Korea which is comparatively cheaper than Indian Steel import. Top notch Indian organization of Steel i.e. SAIL, TATA Steel, ESW Steel and ESSAR Steel has held government as the last assurance to take a protectionist measure on cheap import of steel. Kew House, Greater London, UK: A Peaceful Home

Neat, simple, traditional and homely- that’s the words which define Kew House situated in Richmond, South-West London, UK. Designed by Piercy & Company it proved to be the best combination of steel and wood. The construction was completed in 2014. It has also listed as one of the best new buildings of 2015 by RIBA awards. The construction itself was difficult and commendable at the same time. Whole house is made of two pre-fabricated steel volumes which were placed behind the preserved nineteenth century stable wall. This leads to a structure of a rustic ceiling floor and enameled staircases in between. Kew House is located in the conservation zone of south west London. It’s a family house of 2 storey and four bedrooms. The two storey wing was constructed behind the stable wall. Jockey Club innovation Tower, Hong Kong

Jockey Club Innovation Tower is home of polytechnic institution of higher education situated in Hong Kong. The construction for the structure was started in the year 2009 which was planned to be completed by 2011, but in due course was accomplished in the year 2014. It was built on floor area of 15,000 square meters and the height for this institution is 76 meters with 15 floors. The innovative design comprises a number of engagements say design studios, labs, workshops, exhibition area, multi-functional classrooms, lecture theatre and communal lounge. The tower acquires curved exteriors displaying a flat transaction between walls, ceilings and floor whilst courtyards and lobbies are dotted all over the building. The interior offers with transparency and connectivity to the exterior, good public space for encouraging transaction has been provided.
